Education, Employment & Long-Term Success
Thrive.
For many care experienced and justice experienced young people, adulthood begins without the stable relationships, guidance and opportunities that many others rely upon. Too often, they are expected to navigate housing, education, employment, finances and wellbeing independently while carrying the lasting impact of trauma and adverse life experiences.
Thrive exists to change that.

About the programme
A flagship, trauma-informed path to independence
Thrive is MTICBIAI's flagship 12-week trauma-informed personal development and independence programme for care experienced and justice experienced young people aged 16 to 25. Co-designed and delivered alongside people with lived experience, the programme equips young people with the practical skills, confidence, resilience and supportive relationships needed to build independent, fulfilling and sustainable futures.
Rather than focusing on short-term interventions, Thrive invests in long-term personal growth. We help young people develop the knowledge, life skills and self-belief needed to overcome barriers, make informed decisions and continue progressing long after the programme has ended.
Every participant receives personalised, trauma-informed support that recognises their strengths, aspirations and individual journey, empowering them to thrive rather than simply survive.

Life Skills
Successful independence requires more than motivation. It requires practical knowledge and real-world experience.
Thrive equips young people with the everyday skills needed to navigate adulthood confidently, including:

Social Opportunities
No one should have to navigate adulthood alone.
Thrive creates opportunities for young people to build meaningful friendships, strengthen their support networks and experience positive social connections through group activities, community experiences and shared learning. These opportunities reduce isolation, foster belonging and create relationships that often continue long after the programme has finished.

Wellbeing
Strong wellbeing provides the foundation for every other area of life. Participants strengthen emotional resilience, confidence and self-awareness while learning practical strategies to manage stress and regulate emotions.

Confidence & self-esteem
The heart of Thrive: interactive, trauma-informed group sessions in a safe, non-judgemental environment where young people learn together, share experience and build supportive peer relationships. Practical and discussion-based, not classroom learning.
Weekly group sessions
Alongside group sessions, every participant receives individual support tailored to their personal goals, strengths and aspirations.
Together, we identify barriers, create achievable action plans, celebrate progress and provide practical guidance around education, employment, housing, wellbeing and independent living.
This personalised approach ensures every young person receives the support they need to progress at their own pace.
Personalised one-to-one support
Community & social experiences
Learning extends beyond the classroom.
Throughout the programme, participants take part in social activities, community events and shared experiences that build confidence, reduce isolation and encourage young people to develop positive relationships with both their peers and their communities.
These experiences help participants discover new opportunities, strengthen their sense of belonging and create lasting memories while building supportive networks for the future.
Everything within Thrive is designed to be practical and immediately applicable.
Young people do not simply learn about adulthood. They practise it.
Whether managing a budget, preparing for employment, developing healthier relationships or navigating services independently, every activity equips participants with practical tools they can use throughout their lives.
Real-world learning
We do not ask,
"What is wrong with you?"
We ask,
"What has happened to you, and what do you need to move forward?"
What makes Thrive different
Everything within Thrive is rooted in trauma-informed practice, lived experience and genuine partnership. Many members of our team have lived experience of care, the justice system and trauma themselves — enabling authentic relationships built on trust, understanding and hope.
Participants are never passive recipients of support. They are active partners in shaping their goals, influencing the programme and building the future they want for themselves.

Shaping the Future with Purpose
Our Vision
We believe every care experienced and justice experienced young person deserves the opportunity to build a future defined by possibility rather than past experiences.
Through Thrive, participants develop:
Rather than focusing on short-term interventions, Thrive invests in long-term personal growth. We help young people develop the knowledge, practical life skills, confidence and self-belief needed to overcome barriers, make informed decisions and build successful, independent futures.

Beyond twelve weeks
Thrive is more than a 12-week programme. It is the gateway into MTICBIAI's wider ecosystem of trauma-informed, lived experience-led support.
While the structured programme provides an intensive foundation, participants who wish to remain connected can continue accessing specialist services and opportunities as their lives and aspirations evolve. This includes mentoring, education and university support, employment and career development, advocacy and systems navigation, independent living support, volunteering, youth leadership opportunities and community activities. Rather than ending after twelve weeks, Thrive creates a pathway of continued growth, ensuring young people can access the right support at the right time throughout their transition into adulthood.
Every participant receives personalised, trauma-informed support that recognises their strengths, aspirations and individual journey.
Together, we create a tailored plan that enables young people to build confidence, strengthen resilience, develop lifelong skills and achieve the goals that matter most to them.

Thrive is not about creating dependence on services.
It is about equipping young people with the knowledge, confidence, relationships and practical tools to continue thriving independently long after the programme has ended.
Because thriving is not a destination reached in twelve weeks. It is a lifelong journey and Thrive is where that journey begins.
Commission Thrive
We also work in partnership with organisations across the public, private and voluntary sectors. If you are a Local Authority, education provider, university, housing provider, NHS organisation, youth service, charity, employer or other organisation interested in commissioning Thrive, delivering the programme within your community or embedding it within your existing support offer, we would love to work with you.
Thrive can be commissioned as a structured early intervention, prevention and personal development programme, with delivery tailored to meet the needs of your young people, organisation and local community.
Together, we can ensure more care experienced and justice experienced young people move beyond survival and build futures defined by confidence, independence and opportunity.
